The Cultural Club
"Raska" is a volunteer organization which was established five years
ago and currently has around 200 members of different ages. The Club includes
the following groups: folk dancing group, band and singing group. Our aims are
to promote traditional Serbian folk songs and dances and to learn about the
traditions of other nations. We intend to accomplish these aims by:
- organizing pedagogic
work with children and young people,
- giving concerts/performances in Raska
and other parts of the country,
- offering hospitality to similar societies from other towns or countries. We
have performed successfully throughout Serbia, Spain, Italy, France, The Republic
of Srpska, Slovakia, Tschekia, Hungary, Greece, Holland, Bulgaria and Poland.
Thanks to the great
enthusiasm of our volunteers - musicians, choreographers, historians - who work
with the young people, we have become a very successful club.
We would be grateful for any form of cooperation which you might find appropriate.
Even though Raska is a small town, it
has a very rich historical background. It was the seat of the first Serbian
medieval kingdom. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has some
of the most famous monasteries in its vicinity. It is also near Mt. Kopaonik,
the famous ski resort.
We are open for other forms of cooperation, such as offering hospitality to
a group of young people from your country, or any other country.
